The Learn to Play program is for kids with no previous experience of the game of ice hockey. However, children should have a basic grasp of ice skating. If the child has no experience skating a term of Kiwiskate or private skating lessons are recommended before enrolling in this programme. The Learn to Play Programme provides an excellent basis from which to join the Queenstown Ice Hockey Club.
Session: Every Tuesday during School Term 2: May 2nd - July 4th 4:15pm-5:15pm
The focus is on learning the fundamentals of ice skating, stick handling, passing and shooting. A short game is played at the end of each session to reinforce the skills learnt. Your kids are sure to have a blast!
Bring: The Arena will provide hockey helmets and sticks. Please bring warm clothes, a mouth guard, ski/hockey gloves, knee or shin pads. The arena can provide some gear if required.
